The client contacted us with an urgent job, his builder had already started excavating the trenches, but it had soon come apparent that the ground would not be suitable for a traditional strip foundation. As this was a job that needed to be completed quickly, we planned for our team to attend site the following day which happened to be a Saturday. A site inspection with a member of our Inspections team was made for that same day. This ensured the builder could complete an excavation work that would be required prior to our start. The client was overseeing his building control and so he was asked to book the inspection for early Monday morning.

Day 1 (Saturday) – our team arrived at the site and installed all 7 piles to the required sets. The steel cages were also fabricated and installed to form the ring beam.

Day 2 (Monday) – building control arrived at site to sign off our work confirming that it had been completed to the engineer’s design. Concrete was then poured, and the site was tidied to hand back over to the builder allowing him to stay on schedule with his original timescale.

A copy of the paperwork was sent out to the client this included the pile logs, engineer’s calculations and their 10-year insurance certificate.
