The client contacted us knowing the ground conditions were poor and needed pile foundations for their single storey rear extension. Our quotation was accepted by the client and our health and safety RAMS alongside confirmation of services were sent.
A pre-start site inspection was undertaken by our site manager checking the site for health and safety ensuring there are no obstructions, dangerous grounds conditions (no spoil and rubble in working areas) and is ready for our team to start work. From this assessment he noticed that a 600mm drain needed to be removed and a skip needed to be moved as it was blocking the access. The trenches were also checked to see whether they have been excavated to the correct size and that they are level. Furthermore the road access is checked for any obstructions that may affect delivery of concrete. All this is then discussed with our client.
In just 1 day the team completed the installation of 4 piles and steel. Once the building inspector signed off the groundwork, concrete was then installed. The concrete fills the trenches right up to the top covering the piles and ground beam creating a solidified structure. The site is then cleaned and required site paperwork is completed.
All the relevant paperwork was sent to the client alongside the structural engineer’s calculations.
