For this project, we were contacted by a local conservatory specialist for whom we work with regularly for piled foundations. The client knew upfront that the job would need piling and sent over the initial design drawing in which we then used to create a pile and ground beam solution to meet the requirements. The client was ahead of schedule so was able to provide us with an exact start date in advance. As we had worked together numerous times the client knew our requirements regarding excavation works therefore no pre-site visit was needed. Before work commenced health and safety paperwork including the RAMs were sent to the client.
Day 1 – our team went over to the site and installed 5 piles to the required set. Steel cages were then fabricated and used to form the ground beam.
Day 2 – the remaining piles were driven and the cages that were formed the previous day were tied in place to the engineers’ design. Building control came that afternoon to sign off our work agreeing that it had been done to a high standard and to the design specification. Our team then poured concrete and left the site clean for the builder to continue with his work.
Once we received the paperwork in the office, a copy of the pile logs, our engineers’ design and the 10-year insurance certificate were sent out to the client.
